The Public Open Space at The Dovecote benefits from approximately 4 acres of landscaped, formal and informal space, creating a green framework around the estate and green corridors through the development.
These spaces are primarily naturalistic in character with swathes of long grass and wildflower meadows with scattered native trees. Areas of short mown grass provide areas of informal amenity space through the centre of the estate.
A large number of established trees, together with younger trees and hedgerows provide a strong framework for the open spaces.
The open spaces are well linked through a series of footpaths which provide a circular route around the site and connect into the wider footpath network.
One of the primary drivers of the Ecology function is to deliver against the Landscape Management Plan, which was set out as part of the approved planning application.
This defines how The Dovecote ManCo needs to maintain the flora on the development, to ensure it will florish in the years to come.
